Word 2000 French Dictionary

I have a customer who is appears to be having an
intermittent fault with Word 2000 where by on some
documents the Dictionary appears to have changed language
to French when spell check is performed.

The customer has several users who experiance this same
problem, generally with the same documents.

You might suggest that the customer clear the check box for "Detect language
automatically" in Tools | Language | Set Language. (And thanks for the
question, which alerted me that upgrading from Word 2002 to 2003 seems to
have rechecked that box, as I had it cleared. <sigh>)

.

If the original document had any portions/sections where
the language was inadvertently changed to French the
dictionary will switch to French

Try cutting and pasting the verbiage to another blank
document with no language changes and rerun spell-check

Or Select All (Ctrl+A) and apply the correct language using Tools | Language
| Set Language.
