Word 2000 HTML layout

I have designed a web page and in the design layout I have
text columns on a couple of pages. However, when I got to
the web preview & actual website to view, the columns are
gone and text is all across the page. What is wrong?

I don't believe HTML supports newspaper-style columns. You have to use a
table.
