word 2000 (letters go from clear to fuzzy every second)

when using word 2000 when typing, the letters go in and
out of focus. It came with office 2000 and the other
programs are fine.

It sounds like an issue with your display driver. You may want to
check the Refresh rate or try an updated display driver.
