Word 2000 loading slowly

Today my Word 2000 running under XP started loading
slowly. This includes files, as well. I have no idea why
this has occurred, nor do I know where to begin looking.
Any ideas?

Please do a little research and read the almost 100's of postings
already made to this newsgroup about this problem. This problem has
been answered more than once, by any number of people who have already
given their time to help others.

You know it makes sense.
