Word 2000 lockup opening document

Using Win ME, Word 2000. When trying to open existing
Word document, Title bar starts flashing, system locks
up. Only way to get out of problem is to restart
computer. Ned some ideas on troubleshooting.

Usually a symptom of the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in. Disable it.

I'm having the same problem. I have been through every
trouble-shooting procedure and still nothing. Have you
found a cure?

The answer to you is the same as to everyone else who has asked that
question in this newsgroup: the problem is caused by a conflict with the
Norton Office Plug-in. See "Title Bars Flash, Word Becomes Unresponsive, or
