Word 2000 macros

I am using Word 2000 with Windows 98SE.

Are there built-in macros with Word 2000? I cannot find any.
Have been able to find instructions for writing a macro but nothing
for included macros. When I go to Tools - Macros, I get a menu
for creating a new macro but no way to find built-in macros.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no such thing as a built-in macro.

There are some samples such as in

:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Macros\Support.dot

If you purchase a book such as Steve Roman's Writing Word Macros, there are
examples provided for the book.
See the list of Word VBA books at my URL below.

From the tool bar click on File, New then any macros should be listed in the
pop-up dialog box.

Howard & Gaderian,

Many thanks for your response. I guess the answer is, I'll have to learn to
do macros ;~)

The time you spend learning how to write macros should repay itself many
times over by saving you time.

Note that once you learn Word VBA, it will be less difficult to learn VBA
for the other Office apps.
