Word 2000 New Document Printing Problem

Morgan

I open a new blank document and type my letter, or use a letter wizard to
type the letter, when I go to print, only a couple of the lines from the
middle of the document are printed. I have gone into older documents and
they print correctly, and was able to create a new newletter document
(through the wizard) that saved and printed correctly. I checked my
normal.dot file and it appears okay - but I am not sure what to look for if
there were a problem inherent in it. We run Win2kSP4 with Zone Alarm Pro.
We do not run Norton or Mcaffee. Also I notice that there is not a way to
minimize documents without just minimizing the instance. It's like a new
instance of Word opens for each open document. Is this normal - I hadn't
noticed it before. Thanks for the help!

It is normal for each document to open in its own Window in Word 2000 (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/SDIMDI.htm). Is it possible that
some of the text of your documents is formatted as Hidden? Or, if it is in
text boxes, make sure that you have checked the box for "Drawing objects" on
the Print tab of Tools | Options.
