Word 2000 "Routing Recipient" error

G

George

Hello,

I'm using Office 2000 Suite and I'm having problem using MS Word's routing
feature.

On the "File" menu, I pointed to "Send To", and clicked "Routing Recipient".
It asked me if I'd allow MS Word to open my Address book in Outlook. I
clicked "yes" and selected "10 minutes".

Then I got this error message:

"General Mail Failure, close Microsoft Word, restart the mail system, and
try again."

I followed the instruction and it's still not working. Any suggestions?

Thanks, George.

Hi George,

RESOLUTION
To prevent this behavior from occurring, before sending the document,
switch to your mail program and close the dialog box by clicking OK or
Cancel. You can now send the document.

MORE INFORMATION
In both Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook 97, many of the dialog
boxes used by the program are modal; that is, as long as the dialog box is
visible on the screen, the program cannot perform any other actions.

Because of this, if a dialog box is visible in your mail program, when
Microsoft Word requests that the mail program create a new mail message,
the mail program is unable to comply. As a result, you receive the error
messages described in the "Symptoms" section.

After you close the dialog box in your mail program, if you are still
unable to send a document from Microsoft Word, you may need to quit Word,
restart your mail program, and try again.

Thank You...
Raghu...
