word 2000 saving imported graphics

I am running windows ME. Recently, saving a 50 page
document containing graphs, saving became impossible.
Messages such as "disc is full, free some space" were
shown. Eventually document saved but when reopened no
graphs were inserted (pages blank). I had removed fast
save as this can cause errors so problem is not due to
this. Help please

Do you know the size of that Word document, Word only supports 35MB's?

No it doesn't! Until the most recent versions it was 32mb of TEXT!!!
Graphics could add to that.
