Word 2000 SR-1 errors

Gus Hampton

Hello Everyone.

I've installed Word 2000 SR-1 and everything was fine. I accidentally
removed some files while cleaning out a dir. and now I get some error
messages as shown in these links.

I didn't post the GIFS because I thought you could post pics here.
I have some PTA letters to write and I'm dead in the water without
this. Please help.

I've also gone to the office update site and applied the updates,
rebooted and nothing....

TIA

Thank you for not posting attachments here, but actually just quoting the
text of the error messages would have sufficed. For the first message, you
can select the text that is in the message box and copy it with Ctrl+C.

As for the problem, start by trying the steps given at
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm. You might try
starting Word from a different shortcut, as it's possible the one you're
using is no longer working.

Thank you very much. It worked. My kids need this program for school
reports. you almost made their Dad look very smart until my daughters
saw the name "Susan Barnhill". I had to hear a chant of "Girls Rule"
for an hour before I sent them to bed...

Thank you very much for your great insight.

Well, I'm glad you arrived at a solution, even though my "help" was not very
helpful. You can tell your daughters that a lot of enterprise on your part
was required as well. <g>
