I have just installed SP4 for win 2000 pro, and after
doing so I can not use MS Word. When I start word I get a
message saying word has produced an error and will close
now. Everything else works Ok.
I had previously installed sp3 and all previous security
and critical updates for win2K and Office 2K.
Since I can no longer even get free e-mail support, even
for a currently released SP I figured I'd try posting here.
This is just another reason to use Open Office and to
switch to linux or MAC with my next computer.
With all the CASH $$$$$$$$$$'s MS has available you would
think they could offer customer support. I've used MS
products since DOS 2.01 and probably spend over $5,000 on
MS software in the past 15 years. Each year and each
upgrade the customer support gets less and less.
Now I have a productI paid good money for that has been
destroyed by a service pack issued by the manufacturer,
and I can't even contact the manufacturer directly for
Free.
