Word 2000 / System Hang

I am not able to access Word 2000. If I try to use or if
someone sends anything done in Word it causes my system to
hang. About a month ago I installed a patch to my outlook
express, everything worked fine until this past Monday,
1/5/04 now I am not able to use this program. Can someone
please help?

Have you checked for a virus with an up to date virus checker. Any how, see

Terry,
Yes in answer to your question, I have checked for a
virus, no problem there. Thanks for the info, hopefully I
can find my solution there. Appreciate your suggestions.

If you have Norton, enable the office plugin (office
protect), reboot and open Word. If Word worked correctly
after that, go back into Norton and enable the office
protect feature and try Word again. It should still work
ok.

Hey Terry,
Thanks for the info on my system hang problem. I went to
the site you suggested, found my problem, followed the
steps and was able to correct. I'm back up and Happy,
Happy, Happy!!!!!!!!!
