Word 2000 tables acting up

P

Perdita

I use Word 2000 in creating multi-page tables.
Often while copying or moving text into a cell the table will reformat itself on the page and refuse to accept any further format changes.

The rows are set to break across pages and margins are all ok. Suddenly the top of the table moves to the top of the page and slightly out of sight beyond that. At the bottom of the PAGE everything disappears instead of flowing to the next page. Then it won't let me fix it. I have to delete the table and start over.

What can I do to prevent, stop or correct this?

Thanks for the help.

Select the table, go into Table Properties, Table Tab, Positioning Button...
Is Move with Text & Allow Overlap checked? If not, see what happens if you
check these.

On the Table tab of Table Properties, make sure the text wrapping is set to
None.
