Sounds as if the document is protected. Click Tolls >
Unprotect Document. If it needs a password (and you
cannot get it from the document's originator), Ctrl + A to
select all, Ctrl + C to Copy, then open a new document and
Ctrl + V to paste. After that, Tools > Track Changes
Accept or Reject > Accept All should do it.

I received an edited document showing the changes. I
would like to accept all of those changes, and begin
editing from that point. I have tried turning tracking
on, turning tracking off, highlighting changes, etc. No
matter what I do, when I go to 'Tools', 'Track Changes',
everything is greyed out and it says that no changes have
been selected. Well, HOW do I select the changes so that
I can accept them all. I don't want to have to start this
whole document over from scratch. Any advice will be
greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!
