Word 2000 won't accept HTML

Word 2000 (9.0 3821 SR-1)won't accept HTML when I try to
paste it into a new or existing document. I copy from IE
6.0, and try to paste HTML stuff into a word document and
it just goes to the hourglass and hangs. Eventually I
have to use the task magr. to kill it. When I bring up
the task mgr. i tlooks like two Word documents with the
same tirtle are running at the same time. When I send an
error report to MS, it says the answer might be to
upgrade, but I can't upgrade because it was borrowed
software and I don't have the CDs to insert when it asks
to. I tried the other MS methods and downloaded files for
either SP 1, 2 or 3 when it said i wouldn't have to
insert the CDs but those files couldn't find the
application to upgrade. I am running windows XP
professional (borrowed also, Windows XP 2002, SP 1)
because I wasn't able to successfully install my OEM
version of Windows XP Home. Any ideas?

Hi Mitchell,

I don't think the public Microsoft newsgroups are the best place to
mention you are using 'borrowed' software which is illegal.

Perhaps you should purchase the software. Once you have a legal copy I
doubt you will encounter these issues.
