Word 2000 Won't Print

Strange problem; Word running on Win 2000 won't print unless there is a
colour in the document. Normal black text will not print, however format
any character to any colour and it prints. Any ideas?

TIA

Sorry if this is too simplistic, but do you have black ink in your
printer? I've seen quite a few cases where replenishing the black ink
solved it.

Sometimes it also helps to set your printer to print grayscales instead
of colour, if you don't actually need the colour.

No problems with Inks, the document will print in black if any character is
formatted to any colour, also IE and Outlook both print web pages and emails
Ok. Thanks for your help, any other ideas gratefully received

Sometimes a printer doesn't print a true black, it uses a mixture of all of
the colors. Try changing your printer properties to grayscale only. My
printer will even let me choose to use the black cartridge only.
