Word 2000 & Word Perfect 10

I cannot open either programme using XP. On rare
occassions they would both open and I have no idea why!,
but most of the time (and now for a longtime) I cannot
open either...

Is it an XP problem, a Norton problem or what?

Very frustrating...please help me.
