Word 2000

My stystem was fine until my modem went down.Has been
replaced.
Now when Im using word my sys freezes up and I have to
restart my computor
While im working its ok
but when I go to scroll up/down it just locks up.
Ive reloaded my word program but its still the same.
Any sugestions please
