Word 2000

W98 Laptop with Office 2000. Launching Word locks up the
machine. I have attempted un-install & repair. How about I
delete Winword.exe & try a re-install. :>)

Hi John,
Sounds like Word is getting stuck loading something.
Rather than deleting Winword.exe and reinstalling look to a driver, an
Addin, Normal.dot or a Registry value.
This article has some basic troubleshooting ideas. Look especially at the
section suggesting to start Word with a "/a"
