word 2000

I have trouble with the time it takes to open and then
close a doc.I have reloaded xp and ofice 2000 still no
improvemenmt, help

Hi Terry,

Here are a couple things to check:

- Word through the troubleshooting steps found in:
There are several reasons for receiving errors starting Word. This
article contains the common troubleshooting steps:

- If you use Norton AV go to Norton Options and in the Miscellaneous
section turn off: "Enable Office Plug-in"

- Open Outlook (even if you do not use it) and go to Tools/Options,
check all of your Journal Options and verify automatic journaling is
not turned on for Office documents. (I don't recall precisely where
these options are found for Outlook 2000 but you'll see check boxes
for each of the Office applications)
