I have Microsoft Office Word 2002 at home and 2003 at office, I can not open
Office documents at home. Is there a way to do this? Thanks so much

You can open 2000, 2002, and 2003 files with any of those three versions.
What happens when you try?

Hi Joann, I am saving onto a flash drive. I get a file conversion box that
pops up and it shows that it set under other encoding - Turkish (windows) and
then in preview it has all different letters and numbers that mean nothing to
me. On a couple of other files it says Adobe Reader could not open_____
because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been
damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly
decoder).
Thanks so much for your help. Terri

Never save directly to removable media. Never open directly from removable
media. Both actions can cause file corruption.

Save those files from your flash drive to your hard drive then open them. As
for Reader trying to open them, that's a sign of an incorrect file
association.

Thank You JoAnn,
Original files saved on PC at work, but I was trying to open at home
directly from flash drive. I tried saving and got a message that the
converter was unable to save the file. I did download the Microsoft Office
Converter Pack Version 11.0.0.0 on 7/31/09. I am wondering if I should
unintall that and then try saving again?
Thanks so much Terri

PS - Thanks for the info on saving files from flash drive to PC before
opening, this info will be VERY,VERY HELPFUL.

How did you get the files onto flash drive? If you saved them within Word to
the drive, delete them and copy them over from Windows Explorer.
