You can use copy + paste.

BTW: The text on images printed into OneNote is searchable (if one has
not disabled the automatic OCR).

Method 1

Select the whole document in Word, then copy and paste to ON.

Method 2

Use the "printer" "Print to Onenote" to create input to ON.
The result is an image, but will be searchable. For a bigger document it
can take a while to index the inserted image, because this happens in
the background.
