Word 2002 Application Error Message

Two sambos short of a picnic

My son decided to do did a bit of spring cleaning on my
computer and deleted some files. Not only that, he also
cleaned the Recycle bin.
Now, when I attempt to open Word 2002 I get this error:
"Winword.Exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0000005). Click on ok to terminate the application."

I have tried restore but no success.

Can anybody point me in the right direction.

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, select Office and choose REPAIR when
prompted. If he doesn't know that, then don't let your son in the same room
as your computer again!

Terry,

Thanks for your info. Your reply prompted me to read up a
bit on what options were available. I was able to repair
word using smart restore.
