Word 2002 Blasting the Clipboard on Startup

Copy text to the clipboard, start Word and it looks like Word puts one of
it's tool bar icons on the clipboard replacing the text.

Any ideas?

This is caused by a badly written add-in. The most common is the Works Suite
add-in. If W2002 is part of the Works Suite, you can remove the add-in from
the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs tab.

Terry:

First of all, thanks for the response. I happen to have Works Suite 2004 and
will try your advice.

I don't normally post multiple times but the post appeared on the ng only to
be removed later. That is when the "test" post was sent and then the second
post on the same subject. Perhaps someone didn't like the word "blaster" in
the subject line.

Best regards and again thanks

FWIW, Terry and I obviously have no trouble seeing your original post, since
it's the one we're replying to.

Suzanne:

Well, that's my story and I still can't see the original post. Likely
something in my option settings.

Would like to confirm that removing the Works 2004 add in also removed the
problems that I have been experiencing with Word.

Many Thanks

Yep, the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word is responsible for more grief
in Word than anything else with the possible exception of the Norton Office
Plug-in.
