Word 2002 blinks and gets stuck on exit & on "save as"

I am using Microsoft Word 2002 (10.2627.2625). When I
try to close Word, the window starts to blink (and the
Word toolbar icon blinks gray and orange alternately).
This goes on indefinitely, necessitating the use of Task
Manager to end Word. When I reopen the document that was
loaded, it is often necessary to recover it. This
happens quite frequently -- at least every other time I
use Word! The same thing happens when I use the "Save
As" command to save a particular document under an
alternate name.

You may need to disable the Office plug-in in Norton AntiVirus
