Word 2002 error when pasting

When I paste portions of Word documents into Wordpad,
Word closes and gives an error message. Running Word
2002 for XP Professional. I saw the article below up on
the knowledge base, but don't want to call up and pay
Microsoft for this. Anyone have the hotfix?

I also saw a previous posting about uninstalling the
Works add-in, but as far as I can tell I don't have that
installed in the first place.

Hi Jason,

When a KB article references a hotfix then you will not be charged.

Although if you are able to copy/paste within Word documents without
crashing then the article doesn't appear to apply. May I ask why you are
using WordPad and not just saving a Word document using another file
format?
