Word 2002 French

I just bought the MS Word 2002 french edition. When I tried to install it,
I get an error message "1608" saying that the installation CD cannot find a
qualified product on my machine and shuts down the install.

I run windows XP Home edition and I have Office XP professional English
version installed.

Any help would be very appreciated.

This probably means that the version you have is an upgrade, and
installation must meet certain criteria for a previous qualifying
product to be installed on your machine.

I think you are right. I checked the box and it says 97 or 2000... darn I
should have read the box carefully
