Word 2002 Hangs in Open dialog Box

In Word 2002 (10.5815.4219) SP-2 when I open the Open Dialog box and click
the down arrow on the Look in: field Word hangs for about a minute. It
evetually comes back with the diretory listing. If I have switched to
another app while waiting, the directory listing window apears in the app I
have switched to(Just the directory listing window not the entire Open
Dialog). This problem occurs with Excel as well. I am running Windows XP
Home 5.1.2600 SP1 Build 2600.

Is anyone else seeing this problem? Any solution?
