Word 2002 - Not printing page numbers

Has anyone ever encountered this? Where you have page
numbers set automatically, but they do not appear on the
printed document.

This problem was brought to me by another tech and I have
not had a chance to fully investigate the client
computer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If the page numbers are outside the printable area
recognized by the printer, yes, certainly. happens most
often on HP inkjets, for example.

I believe it was a Lexmark printer actually.

I have the theory that it was due to a protected
document, which I assume the client has many of. This
would obviously prevent anything from being added to the
file and the computer doesn't tell you something is wrong.

Still waiting to hear back.

Each printer has it own parameters where it will not
print. Check the margins to be sure they are not too
small to be recognized by the printer.
