I have recently had the same problem as Erich. If I open
a Word or Excel document from a folder, it takes 3
minutes to launch the program, and then another 3 minutes
to launch the document. However, if I launch Word or
Excel first, the program comes up immediately, and when I
open the document, it again comes up immediately. Also,
when I restart the computer, the programs seem to work
fine for awhile, but then the same problem starts.
I have Office XP, 2002, and am current with my updates
and service packs. I also run McAfee for my virus scans.
