Word 2002, Problems with date on old correspondance

When I bring up an old correspondance, my Word changes the
date that I made the letter to todays date. How can I keep
the date that the letter was made on the correspondance.

Press Alt+F9 to display the field code. It will show either DATE or TIME.
Change that to CREATEDATE, then Alt+F9 again and F9 to update the field. For
