With this error all I have to do is click 'OK' and Word
works perfectly. I'm just getting tired of seeing this
error everytime I start up Word.

.

This is a windows installer problem. If I remember
right, you open Word, it tries to install something, asks
you for something called proret.msi (or "something".msi),
you click OK, it fails to find it and you get the error
1706 (no valid source found or something), right?

Well, when you are prompted to find the something.msi
file, try clicking browse and point it to the one on your
CD.

..msi files are files that the windows installer uses to
determine what has been installed for what product and
where it's installed and what it should install (just a
setup script). If the .msi it's looking for does not
match the .msi on your disk, then you have the wrong disk
for the installed version you have.

You could also look at the following article, but the
above should take care of everything:

HTH!
