Word 2002 ,slow to open and close

Word 2002,part of works suite, takes about 30 seconds to
open and close. This is a recent problem. Could it be
related to downloading updates from Office.

If you're running Word freestanding (not starting it from the Works Task
Launcher) and have not uninstalled the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for
Word, you want to do that (through Windows Control Panel), as it causes many
problems and sometimes corruptions in Word.

Well, I just tried this on my box and bingo - everything
is speedy again. Still don't understand why it only
happened on the administrator account but - now that it
flies - I could care less....
