We have Word 2002 on XP Professional SP1 loaded on over
1400 machines. Something has happened sometime between
today and about last October that causes an issue when we
try to open a Word document through IE 6 (it says xpsp2,
whatever that means). If you open the document within the
browser the document will come up, but when you click the
back button nothing happens and the entire browser stops
responding. If you change your settings to not open the
document within the browser the document will open, but
Word stops responding. I know that it didn't happen
sometime in September or early October because I was new
to my position and did a lot of reading of documents on
our web site.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
