Word 2002 unable to convert WordPerfect Files

I am converting my WordPerfect Files to Microsoft Word 2002. Each time I try
to open a WPD I get the message:
"Microsoft Word
The selected text converter is an old version which does not work with
the current version of Word. Reinstall the converter and try again.

I have tried to determine which text converter and how to install it through
CD and Internet to no avail.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
