can anyone step me through getting my microsoft office word 2002 to work? I
recently purchased the software and installed it as instructed.Everything
else works fine,but Word will not open at all.When I try to open it it just
sits there and nothing happens or it freezes my computer

No guarantees because Works Suite 2002 is out of date but generally
Microsoft does offer free help for installation issues. You could at least
call the 866 number (it's toll free) and see if they'll help.

I'm sorry to hear that but it's what I expected.

If it was my software, I would first try to install it on another computer
to see if it is a disk problem. If so, return the software and make sure
they understand that it's damaged. If it installs, then you may have a
hardware issue. If that's the case, you need a tech to look at it. A four
year old computer isn't "old" (I have one that's 7 yrs old and running XP
Pro and Office 2003 just fine) but it is subject to some sort of mechanical
failure.
