WORD 2003 : backspace don't work

I explain
on higlighting text (word a sentence) I can't use the
backspace for deleting it, i must use DELETE ... this
comes suddently yesterday all works fine.
Also if I will use the clipboard manager an click on one
item to paste it in my document that don't work.
Ctrl+C Ctrl+V is working ...
Strange
Can somebody help me please

On the Edit tab of Tools | Options, check the box for "Typing replaces
selection." Backspacing is considered "typing."
