I upgraded to Office 2003. I created some document in Office 2000. Some of those file I can not open I get "Word was unable to read this doocument. It may be corrupt" I have e-mailed it to a PC that has Office 2000 and it opens just fine

Also try open the files using Recover text in the File Type from the Open
Window.

I have found that using the Open/Open and repair option works OK.
On the File menu, click Open.
In the Look in list, click the drive, folder, or Internet location that contains the file that you want to open.
In the folder list, locate and open the folder that contains the file.
Select the file that you want to recover.
Click the arrow next to the Open button, and then click Open and Repair

I would be interested to know what causes the problem though!
