Word 2003 cannot sort by more than one column

The option for sorting only a single column is checked AND dimmed. Detect
and repair didn´t fix even after two tries. What can I do?

Is it one or more than one you're trying to do? Your subject line and
message body seem to be in conflict.

Sorry. Right you are. In the meantime I contacted the MS Support, and found
that if I ignored the advice in help text and started by selecting a column,
the option is not dimmed/locked.

Still there´s. s problem with the following trxt:
You can also sort by more than one word or field inside a single table
column. For example, if a column contains both last and first names, you can
sort by either last name or first name, just as you could if the last and
first names were in a list instead of a table.

That routine was not found.

(After all there´s several errors in other OFFICE2003 aps., so I may have to
contact MS again).

Actually, you can sort by Word 1 or Word 2 within a column. I was surprised
to learn this recently, and I forget what the secret handshake is, but it is
possible to do this. Ah, wait, I found the post in which I reported this:

To my extreme surprise, it is actually possible to do this! If you select
the same column for the primary and secondary sort, then you get additional
options (Word 1, Word 2, etc.).
