Word 2003 - Cant exit design mode because of control

Both users have the same version of Word (Office 2003
Pro). Office has been updated on both machines.

Document with checkboxes created on Machine A.
Machine B gets following error when opening the
file. "Can't exit design mode because of control (X) can
not be created"

Any Ideas?

I believe a Word form. The error that comes up though has
at the top "Microsoft Visual Basic".

Hmmm. I take it that you are not the author of the form?
If there is no way to find who created the form, then you
will need to find someone who is experienced with Word
protected forms. There is probably some macr/VBA code in
the form document that a field is linked to that is
causing the error. It's going to be difficult to help you
any further without specifics as to the form's code, the
type of field, etc.
