Word 2003 com add-in

Hi there, I am creating a com add-in for Word 2003. Basically the add-in
creates a commandbar with a couple commandbuttons. I was wondering if
anybody has a solution to keeping the possible multiple word windows and
subsequent word documents organized. I know about using the document change
and etc. events. I am looking for a way to maybe add a custom variable to
each document, that way my com add-in will be able to decipher things better
when the commandbuttons are clicked.

Thanks,

Marc.

Hi Marc,

Word has a VARIABLES collection (document variables, not to be confused with
programming variables) where you can store string values in a document. Unlike
document properties, these are not visible to the user.

Hi Oliver,

First thing I'd check would be: how many Addins (either COM or templates)
is Word loading on startup? It's possible that something loading AFTER
your addin is masking your addin's toolbar...
Please: How can I force my toolbar to be visible on Word startup? Mine
diapear on startup. I'm using this project:

230689 SAMPLE: Comaddin.exe Office 2000 COM Add-In Written in Visual C++
