Word 2003 in Win XP crashes (witn need to email Microsoft)
when trying to type any text... a document from Word6 was
opened in past that was possibly currupt. virus scans do
not show anything - and I have latest patches as of today.
Removing Normal.dot just shorten the time when it
crashes..before it wouls crash after few minutes now it
crashes when trying to type anything on fresh document.

Company Installed fresh on brand new Loptop...

Hi there,

Did you try 'Detect and Repair' from the help menu? If
not try it... this won't hurt even if it doesn't help.

Cheers

Yes I did try "Detect and Repair" - did not help at all ... looks like
another bogus MS "feature"...:-(((

Anyone has any suggestions??? other then use non MS instead...

Thanks...

Dear Peter: I'm having the same problem, especially if I
when I try to copy & paste into the document. I've had
this laptop for a year (Dell Inspiron 8200 loaded)and had
no problems with Word until yesterday. The Service Pack 3
is supposed to take care of instability, but it made no
difference on my system. I also reloaded Word 2002. I need
a solution to this problem ASAP! If you get one let me
know! Thanks, Scott

Also tried removing Word Key from registry as well as "Detect and
Repair" with no success ... STARTUP is empty ... and running it as
"winword.exe /a"
gives same results... basically when typing any character - Word Blows
and want to send msg to MS...

Once again this is Word2003 on WinXP all with latest patches...

any help would be greatly appriciated.
