Word 2003 Error: Disables macros

B

bostonallie

any time i go to print, save, close, etc. from the toolbar in Word 2003, i
receive the following message: "The macros in thie project are disabled.
Please refer to the online help or documentation of the hose application to
determine how to enable macros."

i have tried changing the security levels for macros, as well as changing
the trusted publishers. neither works. please advise as to how to address
this problem

thank you,
bostonallie

Change your macros security level to medium (not low). Exit Word.
Reopen Word. Check to see if your change in security level is still in
effect (it should be).
Reopen your document.

Every time I start Word 2003 I get several errors.

"C:\Program Files\ScanSoft\NaturallySpeaking\Program\dgnworld.dll"
contains macros

Macros may contain viruses. It is usually safe to disable macros, but
if the macros are legitimate, you might lose some functionality."

"C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktopOffice.dll"
contains macros

Macros may contain viruses. It is usually safe to disable macros, but
if the macros are legitimate, you might lose some functionality."

There's another one that comes up for Office11 dictation.dot.

In all of the above cases I select Enable Macros.

And finally:

"This application is about to initialize ActiveX controls that might be
unsafe. If you trust the source of this document, select Yes and the
control will be initialized using your document settings."

In this case I select Yes.

If I just start the program by clicking on a document icon, I get an
additional error:

"The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click
OK, and then close open dialog boxes to continue."

Does anyone know what is going on and how I can get around these every
time I start the program?

Thank you.

hello charles - unfortunately, changing the security leves for the macros has
not worked. any other thoughts?

When you say it does not work, do you mean that when you reopen Word the
changes don't stick, or that the changes to the security level are still
there but you have other problems?

that would be the latter. the changes to the security levels do not seem to
affect the problems previously descrbied. the same error messages are
received.
