word 2003-files don't open

I upgraded office xp to office 2003.
files don't open on any of the applications except outlook. outlook i
working fine.
when trying to open a file I get a msg in word that the file i
unavailable.
in excell I get the msg the an antivirus software is blocking the fil
yet I removed the antivirus I had (AVG 6 from GRISOFT) but it did no
help.
yet the file open well in office xp.
what could I do

Have you been to Office Update and updated your installation? (Look under
