word 2003 help!!!

O

Ozzie

I'm faced with a problem about page numbering. Well to be more clear, I have
a long document written in a two separated files. The smaller one (9 pages)
is written in a document landscape mode. I need to put them together and
give the unique page numbers.
I tried to do many things to resolve the problem but I could not find the
solution. I tried to give the page numbers in the document which is written
in the landscape mode but I can do it only at the top and the bottom. In my
case the numbers should be on the left of the document so when I print it
all together I'll have the numbers in the same place and the direction.

I hope I explained it well
Thank you all,
Ozzie

Ozzie:

Do you want the elegant solution, or the quick and dirty solution? :)

For only nine pages, the quick and dirty solution is to type the page
numbers in a text box, position the text box in the correct position for the
landscape page number, then rotate the text in the text box.

Look up "Text direction" in the Help to see how to do this.

If you were doing more pages than this, you would proceed exactly the same,
except that you would insert a PAGE field in the text box instead of typing
the page number.

If you do that, ensure that you use Insert>Page Number>Format to set the
page numbering to "Continue from previous section", otherwise it will
restart again at "1" where you switch into landscape orientation.

Cheers
