I have been having fits lately with Word. I am typing a
paper that is set to 1.5-line spacing. I have not been
able to keep everything formatted this way all the time.
If I save it and the current page isn't completely filled
up, it changes the line spacing of the current paragraph
to single-spacing. I then select everything and set it to
1.5-line spacing again. However, if I hit the backspace
key one too many times, Word completely freezes and CPU
usage jumps to 100%. The only way I can get Word working
again is to kill it and re-start it. I then have to
delete the "temporary" version of the document I'm
typing, and re-save the entire thing over the last saved
version. I have searched on the web and have not been
able to find any similar problems. I have never run into
this problem before now either, although I usually type
my papers either single or double-spaced, so it might
have something to do with the weird line spacing. Any
suggestions?
