Word 2003 Margin Problem

A

I am dealing with a problem in my Word Document that is really bugging
me. I am currently using Word 2003. I created a document using the
default settings for page setup and margins. Left and Right margins
are both set to 1.25".

However, my text is showing 1.25 indented from the left, and 2.50"
from the right. Therefore, I don't have much room to type text, and
my document looks lopsided.

Can anyone tell me why this is occurring, or which setting could fix
this problem? My only other option is to cut and paste everything into
a brand new document.

Check your paragraph setting (Format | Paragraph) to see whether you have
set a right indent.

If Dawn's suggestion doesn't pan out, to check your right indent, then go to
Format/Columns and click "One" in the presets. Note that you still one to
click "One" even if 1 column is already identified.

It's possible the document was previously formatted with multiple columns
and if you use the Columns command on the toolbar to set it back to a single
column then the column width may not automatically adust to the new settings
and selecting "One" in the presets will allow the column width to
automatically balance to the page width of the document.
