How do I get WORD 2003 to show me the number of pages and the current
page number? (Using Win XP).

(I'm doing this from memory.) View - Status Bar

Or do you mean you want that to show up on the document?

I want the number of pages and the current page number to show on the
screen. There's no status bar under view. There is one under Tools and
it's checked.

Click on Tools, Options, View Tab, Status Bar checkbox under Show list and
then OK

As I mentioned before, the status bar box is already checked in Tools.
Doesn't help.

The support link didn't help. Everything is set the way it's supposed to
be except there's no no. of pages. At the bottom of the screen, there's
a bar that says "sec 1" and the column the cursor is on. That's where
I'm expecting to see the no. of pages. It always says "Sec 1" no matter
what page I'm on.

Dan:

Which view do you have showing? Status Bar won't show in Web view. Also, try
un checking the box, close out of options, re-open options and check the box
again. If this doesn't work, is your window maximized?

Hope this helps.

Normal view. Tried unchecking, closing, and rechecking. Window maximized
or not, doesn't change.
