Word 2003 Printing Malfunction?

The other day, I installed Office 2003, and all seemed to be working
fine. Till one day, I started outlook and it said there was something
wrong and kept trying to install some files. This was occuring in all
Office2K3 programs and would shut down if I cancelled the
installation.
So I shell out my MSO 2K3 cd and let it intall "SKU011.cab" file.
After that, things seemed to be back to normal. Except when I shut
down outlook, it would have it's icon in the tray and when i tried to
click it - it would say outlook is not responding.

Sooo.... I un-installed Office2K3, restarted, installed it again. Now
there's a weird problem. Whenever I open a document in Word 2K3 or
Excel 2K3, it keeps trying to print the document. I don't have a
printer, so it keeps asking me to find a printer, and I have to cancel
it so that I can work on my document.

Any ideas on what is wrong?

Are you sure it is trying the print? Word needs a printer driver before it
is able to layout the WYSIWYG page: install a printer driver and the problem
should clear.

Well, I don't have a printer. How come it didn't do that earlier- on
word 2000? or earlier before office 2003 malfunctioned? what kind of
printer driver should i be installing?

Word (all versions) has always needed a printer driver. Install the driver
for the printer from which the document will ultimately be printed.

I don't have a printer!! I don't intend to have one...why does it keep
asking me for a driver?

The original purpose of Word is to create documents to be printed
(regardless of what you are doing with it). If you are willing to settle for
a very basic selection of fonts, choose the Generic/Text Only printer
driver. If you want to be able to use all the fonts you have installed,
select another printer driver. Windows cannot format your document without
information from a printer driver.
