Word 2003 Problem

On a system running Office 2003, a user tries to open
a .doc file and is presented with the following error:

Word was unable to read this document. It may be corrupt.

The error goes on and on about recovering the file. But
if I use another computer with Office 2000, it works.

Any ideas?

Try selecting the document in Word's Open dialog box. Then choose "Open and
Repair" from the dropdown on the Open button.
